Description

Overview

After a widespread 1.50 to 2.50 inches of rainfall, expect a bit of a lull this afternoon before another round of more concentrated shower activity forms near the area low of pressure associated with Isaias. Some flooding concerns will accompany this feature given earlier soaking rains.

What

Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

Where

Portions of central, northern, and northwest Virginia, including the following areas, in central Virginia, Albemarle, Central Virginia Blue Ridge, Greene, Nelson and Orange. In northern Virginia, Culpeper, Northern Fauquier and Southern Fauquier. In northwest Virginia, Madison, Northern Virginia Blue Ridge and Rappahannock.

When

Until 2 AM EDT Monday.

Impacts

Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Low-water crossings may be flooded.

Additional details

- Despite a lull in the activity this afternoon, another round of moderate to heavy showers are expected near the low pressure attached to the remnants of Isaias. Locally intense rainfall could lead to flooding concerns, especially in areas that saw the highest rainfall amounts. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
