FFWFGZ The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has extended the * Flash Flood Warning for... The Moenkopi Wash in... Coconino County in north central Arizona... * Until 500 PM MST /600 PM MDT/. * At 226 PM MST /326 PM MDT/, a river gauge and tribal community members have reported flooding of Moenkopi Wash. Water has reached near the base of the Highway 264 bridge and will continue downstream into the village of Moenkopi. Flash flooding is ongoing.

Life threatening flash flooding of areas in and around the Moenkopi Wash. * For Moenkopi Wash at Moenkopi Wash Near Tuba City: At 1:45pm MST /2:45pm MDT/ the stage was 31.82 feet. Flood Stage is 27.0 feet. Impacts: At 27.0 feet: At 27.0 feet water begins to encroach on homes in lower Moenkopi Village and floods crop fields along the river. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Tuba City and Moenkopi. This includes the following highways... Highway 160 between mile markers 318 and 321. U.S. Highway 89 between mile markers 476 and 478. State Route 264 between mile markers 323 and 324. This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers... Begashibito Wash, Moenkopi Wash, Hamblin Wash, Little Colorado River and Fivemile Wash.
Instructions
This is a life threatening situation. Heavy rainfall will cause extensive and severe flash flooding of creeks...streams...and ditches in the Moenkopi Wash. Severe debris flows can also be anticipated across roads. Roads and driveways may be washed away in places. If you encounter flood waters...climb to safety.
