Overview

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Minnesota... Root River Near Houston affecting Houston County. ...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Minnesota... South Branch Root River at Lanesboro affecting Fillmore and Houston Counties. .Much of the Root River Basin received 3 to 7 inches of rain in the last 24 hours. Initial local runoff has likely already made it through the Lanesboro and Houston locations. Additional upstream runoff will likely hold Lanesboro around 10 to 12 feet through this evening as upstream water routes downstream. At Houston, the forecast carries uncertainty in how fast the water will route downstream. If routing is slower then forecast, expect the Houston crest to be around 14 to 15 feet.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. Additional river and weather information is available at www.weather.gov/lacrosse. The next statement will be issued Sunday morning by 630 AM CDT.
