Impacts
Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. Water over roadways.
Additional details
- At 423 PM AST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding. Between 1 and 3.6 inches of rain have fallen. - Excessive runoff continues, the Rio Fajardo (FAJP4) sensor indicates that it is out of its banks causing flooding along low lying areas. PR-194 is known to become impassable, near the intersection with Calle Marcelito Gotay, when the river is out of its banks. The sensors in Rio Blanco, Rio Fajardo at Paraiso (FAEP4) and Rio Sabana continue at action stage. OMME Naguabo reported minor flooding at PR-31 in sector La Pitina. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
Instructions
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
