Overview

...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Illinois... Des Plaines River near Gurnee affecting Lake IL County. Des Plaines River near Russell affecting Lake IL County.

What

Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

Where

Des Plaines River from US-41 in Gurnee downstream to Townline Road in Vernon Hills, including the Gurnee gauge.

When

Until Monday afternoon.

Impacts

At 9.0 feet, Kilbourne Road and Emerald Avenue threatened near Grand Avenue in Gurnee.

- At 10:30 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 8.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The river crested yesterday and continues a gradual fall. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage on Monday. - Flood stage is 7.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Instructions

A Flood Warning means water levels above flood stage are imminent or may already be occurring. Persons along rivers and streams in the warned area should take immediate precautions to protect life and property. These forecasts are based almost entirely on observed precipitation as little to no additional precipitation is currently expected over the next 24 to 48 hours.
