FFWMLB The National Weather Service in Melbourne has extended the * Flash Flood Warning for... Southeastern Okeechobee County in east central Florida... * Until 215 PM EST. * At 1258 PM EST, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.

Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Treasure Island, Okeechobee, Taylor Creek, Four Seasons Estates, Okeechobee Airport, Whispering Pines and Basswood Estates. Law enforcement reports portions of SR 70 and US 441 in and around the City of Okeechobee are impassable. Motorists should avoid these roads. Water was also entering structures.
Instructions
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
